1. Who we are
StockBusinessNews provides Nigerian market data, company intelligence, and business news. For any privacy question, contact privacy@stockbusinessnews.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to operate the service:
- Account & identity: first and last name, email address, phone number.
- Professional details: organisation, job title, role, and industry.
- Investor profile (optional): investor type, risk tolerance, investment horizon, and the market sectors you follow — used to tailor what we show you.
- Profile extras (optional): country, city, short bio, website, and LinkedIn.
- Communication preferences: newsletter, market-alert, and digest choices.
- Consent records: the date and time you accepted these terms and this policy.
- Technical data: a signed session cookie to keep you logged in, and basic logs needed to secure and operate the service.
Your password is set and verified by our authentication provider and is never stored by the SBN application.
3. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To personalise market intelligence around your sectors and investor profile.
- To send the emails and alerts you opt into, and essential service messages.
- To respond to support requests and operate referrals.
- To understand which features are useful and improve the product.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Service providers
We share data only with vendors that help us run the service, under their own security obligations: Supabase (account database and authentication), Resend (transactional email), and Vercel (hosting). Market data is sourced from third-party market-data providers and is not personal to you.
5. Where data is stored
Account data is hosted in the United States by our infrastructure providers. By using the service you understand your information may be processed outside your country under appropriate safeguards.
6. Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as needed for legal, security, and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
7. Security
We use row-level access controls on your data, HMAC-signed sessions, secure cookies, provider-side credential verification, and encrypted transport. No online service can promise absolute security, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
8. Your choices and rights
- Access & correction: view and edit most details yourself on your account page.
- Marketing: turn newsletters, alerts, and digests on or off any time in your preferences.
- Deletion: request account and data deletion by emailing us.
To exercise any right, contact privacy@stockbusinessnews.com. Please do not send passwords or payment details by email.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
