AVA Capital Group Plc emerged as top gainer on the Nigerian Exchange in the week ended Friday, August 8, 2026, after its shares surged 33.33% in its debut week of trading.
The financial services group was listed on the NGX by introduction on July 31, 2026, with a market capitalization of N37.5 billion. AVA Capital founded in 2018 provides investment banking, asset management, securities trading, and trusteeship services to individuals, institutions, businesses and government.
Speaking on the listing, Managing Director, AVA Capital Plc, Okukayode Fadahunsi, noted that the group has built an integrated financial services platform with a growing institutional footprint.
The listing is designed to enhance market visibility, strengthen transparency, and deepen engagement with shareholders and the broader investment community.
According to data from NGX, the company's shares opened at N8.25 and closed at N11.00 on Friday, 7th, August 2026, gaining N2.75 or 33.33%. The performance placed it as the top gainer for the week.
However, the stock has since seen a pull back with a drop of about -34.55% from N11.00 to N7.20 as at the end of trading on Friday, 14 August, 2026.
Market analysts note that newly listed stocks often record strong demand in the first week as investors seek early entry while pull backs may also be part of market dynamics amid pricing of new stocks. AVA Capital's listing adds to the growing number of financial services firms on the exchange.
